Every animal deserves a second chance at a happy life. At Safe Haven Animal Rescue, we believe that no life is too small to save. What started in 2017 as a humble mission to rescue horses has blossomed into a lifeline for thousands of animals in need. From the gentle clip-clop of a rescued mare to the grateful purr of a kitten, our animal rescue has become a beacon of hope for the voiceless.

Our Journey: From One to Thousands

When we launched our non-profit in 2017, our goal was modest: if we could change the life of just one animal a month, we would be happy. Fast forward, and thanks to a dedicated team of volunteers and supporters like you, we’ve exceeded our wildest dreams. We have rescued, rehabilitated, and rehomed thousands of lives. While our roots are in equine and farm rescue—helping horses, chickens, and pigs—we have expanded our wings to care for all domesticated animals, including cats and dogs.

Thinking of fostering a dog?

This will depend on their vaccination status. If the dog is fully vaccinated, we are happy for you to take the dog on walks as long as the dog is kept on the lead AT ALL TIMES. However, some dogs that come in to us have had no vaccinations or they vaccinations have lapsed. In this case we would ask you not to take them for walks until they have had both their vaccinations.

Foster a dog enquiry form

That is up to you. Ideally we would like potential adopters to be able to meet the dog by visiting them in your home. However, some adopters are happy to adopt the dog without meeting them physically, but by receiving videos of them instead. We understand if you do not feel comfortable having adopters visit the dog in your home and would not rule you out because of this but would advise meeting in a park (if the dog is vaccinated).
